Collective Beliefs, Objects of Power: A Community-Based Perspective on Curatorship

This workshop invites participants to engage with collective beliefs as a starting point to reflect on curatorial practice and its conception from other territories. It explores the beliefs that inhabit us, those that emerge from the communal, and how they strengthen processes of creation, identity, and collective memory from the local and the everyday. It will also address how some of the works in the exhibition—situated within the axes of Territories and Colonial Structures—relate to nature, and how they can be symbolically understood through medicinal plants that safeguard knowledge, or through objects of power conceived as means of protection or healing.

This activity is part of the Public Program of the exhibition Constellations and Drifts: Latin American Art from the FEMSA Collection.
