Constellations and Drifts: Art from Latin America in the FEMSA Collection

March 20, 2026 – August 9, 2026

As part of its 50th anniversary, the FEMSA Collection presents the exhibition Constellations and Drifts: Latin American Art from the FEMSA Collection, which proposes a new reading of one of the most significant collections of Latin American art from the 20th and 21st centuries. The exhibition, presented at the Museo de Arte Contemporáneo de Monterrey from March 20 to August 9, 2026, marks the beginning of the celebration of the collection’s 50th anniversary.

Over five decades, the FEMSA Collection has brought together works by artists from different generations that reflect the evolution, complexity, and diversity of artistic production in the region, with a particular emphasis on Mexican art. Featuring 170 works by more than 100 Latin American artists, the exhibition offers the most comprehensive presentation of the collection ever held in Mexico, while also opening a window onto its future.

The exhibition is curated by Eugenia Braniff, Paulina Bravo, and Beto Díaz Suárez, curators of the FEMSA Collection, along with independent curator Adriana Melchor. It is structured around five constellations, or lines of inquiry: Territories; Colonial Structures; Debating Abstraction: Geometry and Form in Latin America; Alchemy; and Identities, which reflect the lines currently guiding the development of the collection.
