The Museum of Contemporary Art of Monterrey presents José Bedia. Circular trip, a retrospective that proposes a journey through the artist's own production and the ancestral cultures that influence him. The exhibition curated by Taiyana Pimentel, director of MARCO, and José Bedia Fuertes, director of the artist's studio, brings together 102 works of art, mostly paintings, drawings and installations.

The title of the exhibition refers to an introspective journey in terms of culture and identity, since Bedia's art blurs the borders between the original peoples of Latin America from the symbolic, the primal and the sacred; making the past act as an active value in the present. In this way, the artist generates a symbiosis between primitive cultures and contemporary art.

In 1997, MARCO exhibited Crónicas americanas: obras de José Bedia, focused on the influence of the ancestral cultures of the American continent, most of them created in that decade. Now in the Viaje Circular sample his creations from 2000 to the most current predominate, early creations are also included, the oldest from 1978.

The exhibition José Bedia. Circular trip is made up of a selection of 102 works. Two installations carried out will be at the beginning and at the end of the exhibition. The arrival of the Christ will receive the public, while Mbwa Ndoki will find the end. The vast majority of the works are concentrated in sections that reflect their stages of production from different periods and interests.
