Sculpture Courtyard
By MARCO – Peana
CURATOR: Ana Pérez Escoto.
The Monterrey Museum of Contemporary Art and the Peana gallery present the exhibition “The Sunset Ensemble,” a group exhibition in the museum’s Sculpture Courtyard, where art will dialogue with the landscape. The exhibition brings together the work of Tomás Díaz Cedeño, Berenice Olmedo, Rodrigo Hernández, ektor garcía, Mariela Gutiérrez Sites, Tezontle, Ana Mazzei, Federico Pérez Villoro, and Gordon Hall, curated by Ana Pérez Escoto.
In this outdoor space, the proposals unfold like a web of elements, with a focus on the most impactful artistic proposals. The Sculpture Courtyard is now the setting for contemporary works by young creators, through a collaborative, efficient vision that breaks with the stigma of “verticality” that has prevailed in the museum scene.
Taiyana Pimentel, general director of MARCO, emphasized that this collective proposal seeks to fulfill the mission of actively promoting and highlighting artists whose discourses address urgent issues and themes in society, as well as intentionally including a proportion of female creators.
