The Museo de Arte Contemporáneo de Monterrey presents Leonora Carrington: Magical Tales, a major retrospective exhibition that explores the diverse facets of the Mexican artist of English origin as a surrealist painter, sculptor, writer, and reader, as well as her ventures into theater and cinema. The exhibition spans over 60 years of her career, emphasizing historical moments that were fundamental to her work, from her early paintings, her life in France and New York, her relationship with animals, and her engagement with religion; to the impact of her work, the circumstances surrounding it, and her contact with Mexico, the country she arrived in 1942 and where she lived almost continuously until her death.

Leonora Carrington: Magical Tales was organized in collaboration with the Museo de Arte Moderno in Mexico City (MAM) and made possible thanks to the valuable contributions of our sponsors: Cemex, Berel, Fundación BBVA Bancomer, and Tequila 1800.
