Leonora Carrington

October 12, 2018 to February 3, 2019

The Museum of Contemporary Art of Monterrey presents Leonora Carrington. Magic Tales, a major retrospective exhibition that explores the different facets of the Mexican artist of English origin as a surrealist painter, sculptor, writer and reader, as well as her forays into theater and cinema. This exhibition covers more than 60 years of career, emphasizing the historical moments that were fundamental in his work, from his beginnings in painting, his life in France and New York, his relationship with animals and his approach to religions; the impact of his work, the circumstances and the contact he had with Mexico, a country where he arrived in 1942 and where he lived almost uninterruptedly until his death.
