The Sunset Ensemble
FRAME – Stand
March 24, 2022 to November 2022
The Monterrey Museum of Contemporary Art and the Peana Royal Gallery present the exhibition “El ensamble del ocaso”, a collective exhibition in the museum's Patio de las Sculptures, where art will dialogue with the landscape. The exhibition brings together the work of Tomás Díaz Cedeño, Berenice Olmedo, Rodrigo Hernández, Ektor García, Mariela Gutiérrez Sites, Tezontle, Ana Mazzei, Federico Pérez Villoro and Gordon Hall; and under the curatorship Ana Pérez Escoto.
In this open-air space, the proposals unfold as a network of elements, with a focus on the artistic proposals with the greatest impact. The Sculpture Courtyard is now the stage for contemporary works by young creators, through a collaborative and efficient vision that breaks with the stigma of “verticality” that has prevailed in the museum scene.
Taiyana Pimentel, general director of MARCO, highlighted that this collective proposal seeks to fulfill the task of actively promoting and highlighting artists whose discourses address urgent problems and issues in society, in addition to intentionally including a proportion of female creators.
