The Museo de Arte Contemporáneo de Monterrey presents for the first time in Mexico the singular German project Pictoplasma, which over the course of a decade has brought together international artists and designers who have innovated in the creation of characters. This year, under the title Pictoplasma. Character Portraits, it brings together a selection of portraits that offer diverse perspectives on the post-digital era through animations, short films, music videos, motion graphics, drawings, and installations created by more than 120 artists, designers, illustrators, and filmmakers.
The Pictoplasma Berlin Festival has promoted and supported interdisciplinary research in character design in the digital age. To celebrate its tenth anniversary, Pictoplasma exhibited in Berlin recent works by artists who have influenced the project over the years. In Mexico, this exhibition is presented with a broader selection of new artists and site-specific installations.
