MARCO presents Cardiff & Miller for the first time in Mexico, an exhibition that brings together one of the largest collections of works ever shown in a single venue by the Canadian artists Janet Cardiff (b. 1957, Brussels, Ontario) and George Bures Miller (b. 1960, Vegreville, Alberta). The artists are internationally recognized for their distinctive and iconic art, which is based on an extensive exploration of sound as both medium and component of their projects.
Their use of narrative and sound effects results in sensory works that guide viewers into different moods while playing with the element of surprise. Technology is also a fundamental part of their practice, used as a tool to achieve personal objectives and experiences, creating a striking and unsettling reality that simulates the nature of space itself and incorporates unexpected auditory, light, and visual elements.
