CURATOR: Eduardo López, founder and director of the gallery FF Projects

In response to the severe economic crisis that museums are facing internationally, and stemming from the need to find new ways to position current artistic productions, MARCO envisioned the Sculpture Courtyard as an opportunity to create connections with the artistic community of Monterrey—one that has sought to secure a place within the global institutional landscape. For this reason, its director, Taiyana Pimentel, in collaboration with members of the Board of Trustees, developed this project.

The subtext of the exhibition is especially relevant to the moment we are all living in, prompting reflection on the ways in which current events shape the creative work of world-renowned artists.
