The Museo de Arte Contemporáneo de Monterrey (MARCO) opens its galleries to one of the most prominent landscape artists of Mexico, Gerardo Murillo, from Guadalajara, Jalisco, who is more well known as Dr. Atl (1875-1964). The exhibition was organized by the Museo Colección Blaisten of the Universidad Nacional Autónoma de México, and is comprised of more the ninety works that attest to the artistic evolution of Dr. Atl and his contributions to Mexican modern art. The show is a journey through seven decades of his artistic career that includes portraits, self-portraits, landscapes and aerial “bird’s-eye-view” landscapes.
