CURATOR: Luis Carlos Emerich
MUSEOGRAPHY: Ana María and Teresa Pecanins, who divided Gallery 5 into seven areas reflecting the characteristic themes in Guzmán's painting: nostalgia, the sea portraits, architecture, bathers, civic and religious figures, and physical and psychological pain.

Enrique Guzmán (1952-1986), precursor of the neofigurativism movement which predominated in Mexico in the 80s and 90s, remains a little known figure in this country, and this exhibition, in the retrospective manner, is at once a homage, a reassessment and a close look at the work of the intelligent, visionary artist, whose career was so intense and so brief, whose character irreverent and provocative, and who was so taciturn by nature.
