MUSEOGRAPHY: Abraham Cruzvillegas.

The show was organized by the Contemporary Arts Museum Houston. Abraham Cruzvillegas is known for his elaborate 3-dimensional work, where he combines everyday objects taken from a variety of places and re-contextualizes them to create unique assemblage pieces and placing them within cultural spaces and museums. In this exhibition the artist presents a selection of works from 2OO3, as well as several new works made especially for the show at MARCO.

Abraham Cruzvillegas (Mexico City, 1968) studied in the Faculty of Philosophy and Letters at UNAM (National Autonomous University of Mexico). He attended the Gabriel Orozco workshop along with another group of artists that he supported for their daring artistic languages. He has show his work individually and in group shows since 1987 in Germany, Argentina, Belgium, Brazil, Canada, Cuba, Spain, The United States, France and Mexico.
