The show presented fifteen years of Arturo Rivera's artistic development. His work was presented in three main cycles. The canvases unfold in a publication called El rastro del dolor and date from 1980 until 1986 and are in the “público-dibujístico” style. The series Historia del ojo, from 1989 until 1990, is witness to the artist's transition from drawing to painting. Painting is clearly manifested in the cycle that deals with the bible. Rivera chooses characters and episodes from the Old and New Testaments. One characteristic that stands out in his biblical themed work is that the artist frequently breaks with the traditional iconography in his representations, giving it a very Arturo Rivera expression.

These three cycles are complemented and enriched by works of several genres such as the portrait, the self-portrait, nudes and still life. The techniques managed by Rivera are rich in their content as well as in their form.
