CURATOR: Charles Merewether
MUSEOGRAPHER: Walter Hopps

In early 1994, MARCO presented 73 works by the Brazilian artist Saint Clair Cemin (Cruz Alta, 1951). His productions ascribe to Modernism by the insistence on the purity of the materials and the physical relationships within the work and by the belief in continuity between the body and the mind of the people and their environment.

The creatures and everyday objects: chairs, tables, vases, teapots, animals, people, seem as if they have just arrived, as if they are just now being born, he adds, but always dreaming about other worlds and going even further from the moment of recognition.
