The Museo de Arte Contemporáneo de Monterrey presented the exhibition Víctor Rodríguez. Paintings 1997–2009, that provided a glimpse into the imaginary world of this Mexican artist.

His paintings, seemingly innocent and casual scenes filled with vibrant and pleasing colors, make the spectator believe that he is showing us an intimate universe, but in fact, he has deliberately created an environment that gives us a false state of voyeurism.

At a time when painting seemed to be an almost obsolete art form and realism was considered to be something decadent, Rodríguez made up his mind to continue along that path, but he armed himself with new technological tools along the way even though some critics and fellow artists considered the use of them unacceptable.
